This notice explains what personal information we collect when you visit this website or get in touch with us, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
This website is run by Cheyne Construction Holdings Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11786057), with its registered office at Norwich Accountancy, 19 Upper King Street, Norwich NR3 1RB. We are the ‘controller’ of the personal information described here, and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZA654804).
For any questions about this notice or your information, email info@cheyneconstruction.co.uk or call 020 8442 1639.
What we collect
When you contact us. If you email or phone us, we keep your name, contact details and anything you tell us about your property or project.
When you visit the website. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information in its server logs, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and when. We don’t use this to identify you.
This website has no forms, accounts or tracking tools.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, prepare a proposal or quotation. We do this because you have asked us to take these steps before potentially entering into a contract with us.
- To keep the website secure and working properly (server logs). This is in our legitimate interests.
If you go on to become a client, we will also use your information to plan and carry out your project, and to meet our legal obligations, for example for accounting and tax.
We never sell your information or use it for marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where necessary, with:
- companies that provide our website hosting and email services, who act on our instructions;
- consultants, specialist trades and suppliers working on your project, such as architects and designers, where this is needed to deliver it;
- our professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, as UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a project: up to two years, then deleted.
- Client and project records: for as long as needed to complete the work, and afterwards for as long as the law requires, for example six years for financial records.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period, usually no more than a few weeks.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies or any similar tracking technology. If you follow a link to our social media pages, those sites have their own privacy and cookie policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask us to transfer information you gave us to another organisation.
Some of these rights only apply in certain circumstances. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.ukor on 0303 123 1113.
